Nestling in the heart of the Purmerpolder in Noord-Holland is the Leeuwendaal group accommodation. This traditional ‘stolp’ farmhouse in the rural district of Edam-Volendam has 10 guest rooms with a total of 29 beds, a large and pleasant open-plan kitchen/dining room with all cooking facilities, refectory-style tables and an attractive sitting area, and a spacious recreation room.
Stay the night with your group
Our group accommodation has 10 rooms with a total of 29 beds. Two rooms are on the ground floor and the other eight are on the first floor of our historic ‘stolp’ farmhouse. Experience the traditional atmosphere of the building and sleep in one of the four nostalgic box beds. There are ample bathroom facilities, including a bubble bath, six showers and seven toilets. On the ground floor there are facilities for our disabled visitors, such as handrails in the toilets and ramps for the higher steps and thresholds.
Leeuwendaal is your home from home, where your group can relax and enjoy each other’s company. In principle your stay is entirely on a self-catering basis, but breakfast, a packed lunch or dinner can be arranged in consultation with your host and hostess. You can order bread or have meat delivered to cook on the barbecue which is available for your use.
Farm life
The farmhouse, converted in traditional style to accommodate groups, has a spacious open-plan kitchen/dining room with all facilities, including dishwasher, oven, microwave, freezer, fridge and a 5-ring gas hob. Enjoy cooking together with your group and linger after your meal at the long refectory tables with space for 35 persons. The large recreation room with billiards, table tennis and table football is ideal if the weather is bad, but as soon as the sun comes out you will be sitting outside on our waterside terrace. This is the perfect place to gather round the brazier as the sun goes down over the polder, and there is also a sheltered spot for you and your group to enjoy a barbecue.
The terrace is also the perfect place for fishing, while in the grounds children will have plenty of fun playing football, trampolining or playing in the sandpit. And if you want to explore the area from the water, Leeuwendaal group accommodation has canoes and pedal boats for you to use at any time.
Or why not take your boat out on the water with an electric outboard motor which is available for your use.
